Authorities seek Orchard Road ‘blueprint’

Authorities seek to implement an “actionable Orchard Road blueprint” within 20 years, according to the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and Singapore Tourism Board (STB).

Launching a public tender, the agencies will lead a six-month study into the prime retail and office district. They have called for proposals for the business study, with an optional component of assessing up to four strategies for the area, the Straits Times reports.

“The goal is to strengthen Orchard Road’s positioning, offerings and visitor experience,” says a spokesman.

By the end of next year, a design incubator to showcase and groom local brands and designers will be built at Orchard Green as well.
