Bobii Frutii popping up in Clementi Mall

With Bobii Frutii about to open its first store in Singapore, further evidence of the revival of the Taiwanese bubble-tea craze in the city.

This brand features colourful pearls and eschews artificial flavourings, manmade essences, creamer and preservatives.

For its store in the Clementi Mall, opening this month, the menu will feature 37 drinks in five different categories – Tea/Au Lait, Ice Blended, Matcha, Fruit Tea and, exclusive for Singapore, Cheese Tea.

There are three flavours for the pearls (“bobii” in Taiwanese slang): Original, Butterfly Pea and Brown Sugar, all made in Taiwan and flown to Singapore to ensure freshness and consistency.

Names for the drinks are more fanciful than practical, such as Childhood Memory, Don’t Want To Grow Up, Don’t Want To Work, Green Romance, Mermaid’s Tears and Pandora Treasures, reports Daniel Food Diary.

With actor Nat Ho as Singapore brand ambassador and creative director – and also a partner – Bobii Frutii is already planning a second outlet for Suntec City Mall in March to be followed by seven other outlets.

Bobii Frutii has four other outlets, in Taiwan and China.
