Flowers and drums for Lunar New Year at VivoCity

Performances, decorations and a lucky draw mark the arrival of spring and the Lunar New Year at VivoCity.

A floral garden is being set up at the outdoor plaza complete with a Chinese Zodiac display and a Chinese pavilion.

“For those who prefer a little more excitement, VivoCity is bringing in the award-winning Yi Wei Athletic Association Lion Dance troupe,” says VP for marketing Gwen Au of mall owner Mapletree Commercial Property Management.

Tangs Chinese New Year Fair returns to the Central Atrium offering festive goodies and decor items. It runs from January 23 to February 14, and qualifying shoppers can take home an exclusive biodegradable tray worth $40.

Prizes totalling more than $12,000 are offered in the Festive Lucky Draw, including SK Jewellery vouchers worth $5000, $3000 and $2000, and $500 Mapletree vouchers.

Shopping rewards are also being offered, including complimentary Red Packets from this Friday until February 15. At the same time there is a chance to win a red-packet organiser.

Running from January 18 until February 12 are biweekly Facebook contests with prizes from Tangs and Prima Deli.

Meanwhile, traditional performances will start on January 20 with the God of Fortune Meet & Greet (also the following day).

Also on the program are the Fu Lu Shou Meet & Greet (January 27 and 28), Taiko drum performance (February 3 and 4), a hip-hop Lion Dance flash mob (February 10 and 11) and finally Lion Dance performances by Yi Wei Athletic Association (February 23 and 24).
