Smiley pop-up cafe on Egg’s menu

SmileyWorld has launched a Smiley pop-up cafe in Hong Kong, planned to run through until June next year.

In the Langham Place shopping centre in Mong Kok, the concept cafe was launched with a VIP event attended by industry leaders. Brokered by Smiley’s Asia Pacific partner Walton Brown, the cafe experience is part of a new Egg Optical store in the shopping centre.

As well as Smiley-themed food, the Smiley Egg Cafe offers Smiley home and kitchenware products.

“Food is one of the growth areas of our business today, and it’s great Walton Brown has helped bring our cafe concept to life,” says Smiley CEO Nicolas Loufrani.

He says it is also an opportunity for the company to showcase its home and kitchen concepts and licensee products, another area for growth this year.

At its launch, the cafe offered a Smiley phone case and accessory customisation station as well as a service that printed customers’ photos on to pancakes.
