Larger office reflects Cashmaster growth

With new contracts and a project increase in business, Cashmaster Asia Pacific is moving to a larger office in Hong Kong to accommodate further staff growth.

The company, which specialises in designing and making cash-counting devices based on weight, has also appointed a business manager for Asia Pacific, Steven Man.

Following the establishment of its regional headquarters in Hong Kong in 2016, the Scottish company has landed contracts with supermarket chains, convenience stores and brand-name retailers in Hong Kong and Macau. It is also reaching into Singapore and Taiwan, and will integrate into Hong Kong its sales activities within Japan and Australia, previously managed out of the UK.

“Cash remains a premier transactional method in most jurisdictions, providing us with an ideal opportunity for growth,” says global CEO Gordon McKie. “The forecast demise of cash has been greatly exaggerated. Indeed, it continues to be the most popular payment method across many jurisdictions in Asia Pacific.”

Before taking up his appointment with Cashmaster, Man held senior business-development roles with global brands such as Columbia and Haagen Dazs, and most recently worked with Swire Resources where he was responsible for developing channel and key-account growth for outdoor and sports brands.
