Giorgio Armani Beauty goes ape at airport

With a giant red gorilla named Uri, a Giorgio Armani Beauty pop-up store has been featured at Hong Kong International Airport by L’Oreal Travel Retail.

Created by Italian artist Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba, Uri is a replica of a full-size gorilla statue in Mr Armani’s home in Milan.

With hot-red walls and black lighting fixtures, the store offered guests the opportunity to take photos with Uri, as well as try the latest make-up products such as Ecstasy Shine lipstick.

Limited-edition Uri tote bags and stickers could be redeemed with purchases, along with samples, while specialists were on hand to provide customised make-up services.

The Armani pop-up store will next appear at Charles de Gaulle International Airport in Paris on March 2.
