Ikea Philippines about to launch

Ikea Philippines is about to launch following the appointment of a local franchise partner, Ikano.

This has been announced by Inter Ikea Systems spokesperson Josefin Thorell.

Singapore-based Ikea Southeast Asia has also posted a job opening on LinkedIn for a Manila-based design manager to work with the design team “and play a decisive role” in rolling out the brand’s first store in the Philippines.

Ikano Group is involved in finance, real estate and retail, and marketing manager Jasmin Cruz says the company had been registered with the Board of Investments for two years.

Known for its self-assembly products, the Swedish retailer is aiming to generate €50 billion (US$62 billion) in annual revenues by 2020. It has stores already in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, and is also planning a store in Vietnam.
