Macau’s fashion brand retailer Rainbow Group is to build a luxury goods complex in Hengqin.
China MCC20 Group will start work on the seven-storey Rainbow Life Plaza on April 15, the Zhuhai Government has announced. Scheduled to be finished in 2020, the project is on a 16,246sqm site and will offer about 65,385sqm of retail space. Three basement levels will be used for parking.
Rainbow Group president/founder Terry Sio Un I opened her first store in Macau about 30 years ago. It now has nearly 200 mono- and multi-brands in Macau and in more than 20 cities on the mainland.
With many of its stores in high-end shopping malls, casino resorts and department stores, Rainbow owns the rights to more than 20 major brands of apparel and footwear, jewellery, handbags and accessories including A Testoni, Escada, Giorgio Armani, Jimmy Choo and Versace.
MCC20 Group (China Metallurgical Group) was established in 1973 and was responsible for several projects in Hengqin New Area, including the port building.
