Llaollao comes off the ice in Singapore

Spanish frozen yogurt chain Llaollao, which closed all its Singapore outlets at the end of last year, is returning this month.

While details have not been released about the new master franchisee, the group will herald its return with a store at Changi Airport’s Terminal 2, next to American doughnut chain Krispy Kreme.

All 29 Llaollao outlets were taken over by another frozen yogurt brand, Yole Frozen Yogurt, in December. This was reportedly a unilateral decision made by the previous franchisee.

Yole is run by D+1 Holdings, which also manages such F&B concepts as Italian restaurant chain O Mamma Mia and Spanish restaurant Tapas Club at Orchard Central.

Following its sudden departure, Llaollao said on its Facebook page that it was “far from finished” in Singapore, with founder/CEO Pedro Espinosa describing Singapore as a “key market”.

Queues formed when Llaollao opened its first outlet in Marina Square about four years ago. Its frozen yogurt was served with a choice of toppings ranging from fruit to cereal and sauces.
