World Department Store Forum 2019 headed to Tokyo

The World Department Store Forum 2019 (WDSF) will be held in Tokyo next year, the first time in Asia in its six-year history.

The forum will be held on June 6-7 with optional retail study tours of Tokyo and Osaka afterwards.

Werner Studer, executive director of the event, said WDSF gathers department store executives from all over the world along with representatives of global brands, suppliers and partners.

“The forum addresses the most important issues of department-store retailing from both a visionary and strategic point of view. It is designed for all stakeholders of the retail industry in order to enable them to learn from one another and to achieve closer cooperation,” he said.

Next year’s event will be supported by J Front Retailing, one of Japan’s leading department store operators which owns Daimaru and Matsuzakaya, and the Japan Department Store Association.

Online registration will open from mid-October.
