No Signboard Holdings to launch Hawker QSR

No Signboard Holdings is expanding, launching an Asian burger concept called Hawker QSR in Singapore.

The company announced the quick-service restaurant (QSR) concept will launch later this year in the city’s west, to be followed by the east early next year.

The brand will be available on delivery platforms and as a drive-through concept with 24-hour outlets, and will get halal certification for its menu.

Representing local flavours, Hawker will serve burgers with chilli crab, nasi lemak, satay and chicken rice – with steamed chicken and rice patties to replace the usual burger buns.

Other dishes include porridge, a roti prata platter and local desserts.

A meal including a burger, drinks and French fries is under $6.

“We want to find new growth in a different segment such as hot pot. We also want to target the mass market and find opportunities in the QSR sector. Many are more Western-style and less Asian. We see a demand for Asian cuisine,” said Eric Er, Hawker QSR’s VP of operations.

Last week, the company signed a franchise agreement to bring Little Sheep hotpot chain to Singapore.
