Shinsegae takes Vidi Vici beauty to China

Korean retail giant Shinsegae International is opening a cosmetics flagship for its Vidi Vici beauty brand in China next year.

The firm has already established a representative office in China in preparation for the move, which will proceed after the necessary licenses are obtained—giving the brand access to the world’s largest market. It will launch a lotus-themed new skincare line in advance of the opening.

A spokesperson for Shinsegae International said: “Vidi Vici is famous for its skincare goods in China, so we’re planning to add a premium skincare line consisting of six products for women in their 30s and 40s with a price tag of below KRW200,000 (US$178).”

The Vidi Vici brand has enjoyed significant popularity among Chinese consumers, bringing monthly sales of KRW10 billion (US$8.9 million) since March. The firm is expected to make KRW130 billion (US$115.6 million) this year.
