Tong Chong Street Market seeking food entrepreneurs

The Tong Chong Street Market at Taikoo Place is seeking new entrepreneurs – especially in food – to take part in the November market season as vendors.

Co-presented by Taikoo Place and social enterprise Honestly Green, TCSM is a major annual food market in Hong Kong held from November to February every year. The market features everything from fresh farmers’ produce to creative recipes, cooking tips, and the latest food and beverage trends – and is a platform that encourages dialogue between like-minded communities across the region.

The annual market, which launched in 2015, has increased its number of market stalls to 26 F&B stalls and 10 for packaged food.

TCSM’s promoters are describing the market as a perfect test-bed for future foodies and businesses to showcase their sustainable products given its proven status as a local talent incubator, its focus on sustainability, its seasonal themes and its active culinary community.

In recent years, TCSM has helped numerous independent local businesses and startups move from food stalls to brick-and-mortar restaurants. Success stories include Little Bao, Bread & Beast, Co Thanh and Bagoes, among others.

The market will span a coffee festival (November 4, 11, 18 and 25 ), a snowy christmas (December 9 and 16), and Healthy Eating (January 6, 13, 20 and 27; February 10 and 17).

To qualify as a vendor, interested parties should be an independent local business or startup, with sustainable business components such as selling sustainable items or sourcing local produce and an emphasis on innovative culinary offerings.

Registration for stalls at the market ends August 13.
