Ikea South Korea set to open third store

Swedish furniture manufacturer Ikea South Korea is set to launch a third store.

The new store will be located in Giheung-gu, Yongin, making the brand’s products more available to southern metropolitan customers.

The planned 91,000sqm store will be three stories tall with two underground levels, and should be ready to open late next year.

An Ikea Korea spokesperson said, “As a multi-channel retailer, we will continue to expand our reach and improve the shopping experience for our customers so that more people can furnish their homes with Ikea products.”

The firm hired 700 new employees last year and achieved sales of KRW365 billion (US$326.1 million).
