A new e-commerce platform dedicated to rebates has launched in Southeast Asia.
RebateMango is the first service of its kind in the region to offer a choice of cashback, air miles or loyalty points based on online purchases, in addition to any credit card rewards program they may be participating in. It has partnered with more than 300 online retailers across Southeast Asia.
The platform aggregates product listings from major online retailers, taking a commission on sales that can be passed on to shoppers as rewards. Customers can select the rewards they are interested in at the company website. Analytics on the site pool customer responses to better understand the market.
After a year in business, the startup has raised more than US$700,000 in seed funding and has seen 300 per cent month-on-month growth in revenue over the last quarter.
Key participants on the platform include Lazada, Agoda, KrisFlyer, Malaysian Airlines, AirAsia and Cebu Pacific, as well as existing loyalty points programs like CapitaSTAR$ and Changi Rewards.
Cofounder Paul Koh said: “Currently, rewards sites only offer either cashback or air miles. By marrying both into a single platform, shoppers can not only choose where they want to shop, but how they want to earn from it.”
RebateMango is currently focusing on expansion into other regional markets, including the Philippines and Indonesia.
