China Lilang plans to open 200 stores this year

Chinese menswear firm China Lilang has posted robust mid-year results with revenues of RMB1.2931 billion (US$187.9 million).

The strong revenues coincided with the addition of 102 Lilanz-branded stores giving the company an 11.4 per cent increase of retail floorspace.

The group’s chairman and executive director Wang Dong Xing said the group achieved all-round improvements in its performance amid a recovering consumer market and was able to implement its market expansion strategy on schedule.

“Meanwhile, the retail channel of Lilanz was upgraded further, the store count increased, and store operating efficiency enhanced. The Lilanz stores which have been operating for more than 18 months by the distributors, recorded high single-digit same-store sales growth during the first half of the year.”

The group says it will continue to expand during the next six months, aiming to add a net total of at least 200 stores for the whole year. In particular, more stores will be added in shopping malls.
