Thailand’s Go-Ang to open in Singapore

Thailand’s Go-Ang chicken rice chain is opening its first overseas outlet in Singapore’s NEX shopping mall this month.

The brand, which has specialised in Hainan-style chicken rice since 1960, has guaranteed authenticity of the cuisine by ensuring all Singapore staff were trained by founder Sombat Pruekpaiboon at the original restaurant in Bangkok.

Go-Ang will be managed in Singapore by The Minor Food Group, which also operates Xin Wang Hong Kong Café and ThaiExpress.

Observers have commented that as Hainan chicken rice is already widely available in Singapore, the new entrant’s price point may be critical to the brand’s ultimate success in the market.
