BreadTalk profit slides

BreadTalk profit slumped 29.2 per cent in the third quarter, but the restaurant and food group still achieved a surplus of S$2.7 million (US$1.96 million)

The company blamed the decline on one-off costs associated with opening its new Din Tai Fung outlet in London and other new businesses, along with bakery restructuring expenses.

On a more positive note, revenue increased 2.3 per cent during the quarter to $157.7 million.

For the nine months to September 30, BreadTalk achieved a profit of $6.3 million, down 62.5 per cent year on year, on sales of $455 million, up 1.2 per cent.
