LeSportsac Hong Kong flagship store reopens at Pacific Place

LeSportsac Hong Kong has reopened its Pacific Place store with a new design concept.
Designer Clifton Leung has not only reimagined the brand in the new retail space – but created his first crossover collaboration – a limited edition range of men’s lifestyle items, #CliftonLeungXLeSportsac.

Leung says when designing the new shop concept, his priority was to create a unique customer experience. The result is what he describes as “a futuristic gallery space”. To showcase LeSportsac’s fashion-forward pieces, he used an RGB lighting system featuring colour-changing technology that produces vibrant colours.
“The illuminations are customised to enhance different LeSportsac pattern designs and seasons throughout the year, bringing new vibes to the shop year-round. The use of light and transparent materials through the store – blasted mirror, glass and wires – highlights LeSportsac bags in lightweight fabric,” he says.
Creative shapes and lines of the shelvings and feature lightboxes on the wall give “dynamism and vibrancy to the store, while the chromoshine feature at the furniture serves as a highlight of the store”, creating a chic and cyber feeling.
The shape of LeSportsac logo is infused into the design of the store’s shelving and used in lightboxes on the walls to enhance brand awareness.

“I hope the refreshing new look I created for LeSportsac Pacific Place will win the hearts of both LeSportsac’s fans as well as drawing new customers,” says Leung.
The store, together with the #CliftonLeungXLeSportsac collection, were launched at a function last week, with guests including veteran Hong Kong-based actor and film producer Simon Yam Tat-wah, entertainment veterans Lawrence Cheng Tan Shui and Michelle Loo, supermodel Janet Ma and her daughters Kayla Wong and Irisa Wong, William To, creative director at PMQ and renowned fashion designers Henry Lau, Kenny Li and Judy Mann Lai Yin.
Leung said that when he created the print pattern for the crossover collection, he drew inspiration from the “blueprint” of the interior design.
“I hope to foster people’s boundless imaginations and creativity. This is my first commercial collection and I look forward to many more fruitful collaborations in the future!”
Judy Yu, founder of Carsac Limited which owns the LeSportsac licence in Hong Kong, says her intention behind the collaboration with Leung was to connect with the young and chic audience.
