Boostcom acquires iColumn in Asia

Boostcom, a supplier of proptech for shopping malls, has acquired iColumn in Asia.

Between them, the two companies serve 200 shopping centres in 16 countries, helping property managers increase revenues both in-store and online. Both Boostcom and iColumn have data management, CRM and loyalty related products and services.

Jason Cheong, iColumn CEO, says the company wants to be part of a major world-leading player in digitalisation of shopping centres and the merger of the two companies’ operations will improve service, reach and experience offered to customers.

“We have been pioneers in the area in Southeast Asia, and we will now grow more across Asia and globally together with the rest of Boostcom.”

Boostcom has customers that reach up to 80 per cent of their mall visitors through databases of digital profiles. Data-driven digital activities drive more than 25 per cent of revenue for some tenants on a monthly basis.

Boostcom claims to be the only company that integrates all available digital touch points in a shopping-centre environment in one data layer it calls The Mall Performance Cloud.

“We want shopping centres to experience that digital is not only a marketing channel. It is a revenue channel,” said Peter Tonstad, CEO of Boostcom Group.

“Instead of feeling challenged by e-commerce, they can push the limit for how far they can go into digital sales to the benefit of their tenants.”
