First Shang Social restaurant will open at Jewel Changi

Shangri-La Group will launch its first standalone restaurant – Shang Social – at Jewel Changi Airport next month.

The 200-seat restaurant offers three distinctive Chinese cuisines: Cantonese, Huaiyang, and Sichuan. The company says the menu features traditional and contemporary interpretations of classic Chinese cuisine while staying true to their authentic flavours and roots.

“Jewel’s strategic location at one of the world’s busiest airports offers us an ideal opportunity to showcase our many Chinese specialities to a global audience,” said Lim Beng Chee, Shangri-La Group CEO.

“With Shang Social, we are taking our first steps to bring our collective culinary heritage to a wider community outside of the hotel setting.”

Shang Social MRKT will offer seasonal culinary dishes from around the region in a pop-up feature kitchen. A retail space within the market sells foods for travellers to take home.

At the heart of Shang Social is the 18-seater Shang Social Bar, pairing cocktails with modern Chinese tapas.

“We are honoured that the Shangri-La Group has chosen Jewel for their first standalone dining establishment,” said Hung Jean, CEO of Jewel Changi Airport Development.
