Hennessy Declassified popup heading to Macau

The Hennessy Declassified popup exhibition will run at the Galaxy Macau from September 17 to October 6.

The exhibition – held to “unveil the mystery behind Hennessy’s reign” – has toured through several Asia Pacific regions including Shanghai and Hangzhou, and is an interactive experience that explores the history and art of the Hennessy family and their 250 years of cognac making.

“Set foot first into the hidden world of Hennessy in France and experience the unparalleled beauty of the vineyards,” reads promotional material released by the firm, “then venture within the walls of Hennessy’s history, and understand the brand’s exceptional wisdom that has been cultivated over centuries. Walk through the infographic display area, where you can master the myths and knowledge of maturation by simply touching a wall.

“Step into the new section where Hennessy’s eaux-de-vie lie, and delve into the source of Hennessy’s craftsmanship. The secret of this ‘hidden treasure’ also allows you to explore an important step in cognac making:  the Art of Maturation. The eaux-de-vie age in handmade oak barrels, after which the amber-coloured essence is carefully blended, resulting in in the incomparable taste of Hennessy.”

The exhibition features a tasting room on Fridays to Sundays during the display period. Registered participants may take on a role as a member of the “Grand Tasting Committee”, where they can learn to understand, select and make decisions regarding the cognac with other important members of the committee.

In the final part of the exhibition, visitors will be able to experience the flavour of Hennessy’s cognac.
