Vestiaire Collective expands offline, opens first permanent boutique at Selfridges

Global platform for pre-owned fashion Vestiaire Collective has opened its first permanent boutique at Selfridges department store on Oxford Street in London.

The boutique’s opening coincided with Vestiaire Collective’s 10th birthday and is aimed at promoting circular fashion, it says.

The store carries unique pieces, including a selection of 10 rare vintage finds like the original Paco Rabanne, conceptual Maison Martin Margiela and vintage Versace, which Vestiaire Collective has sourced exclusively for Selfridges.

It will offer an in-store experience including a drop-off service, where customers can deposit items through the concierge service and Vestiaire Collective app.

“Responding to changes within the consumer landscape, this partnership aims to raise awareness of the importance of circular fashion in order to drive positive long-lasting change in the fashion ecosystem,” says Vestiaire Collective CEO Max Bittner.

Launched in Paris in 2009, Vestiaire Collective’s platform has more than 9 million members across 50 countries worldwide. It says more than 40,000 new items are submitted by its community of sellers every week, enabling buyers to search amongst highly coveted and sold-out fashion pieces.
