The world’s first Doraemon store – Doraemon Future Department Store – will land at Diver City in Odaiba, Tokyo next month. 

The opening coincides with the 40th anniversary of the famous robotic cat’s television debut, and next year will mark the character’s 50th birthday (it started off in manga form). 

The Doraemon store will offer a wide range of merchandise together with “secret gadgets creating unique interactive experience” according to a statement issued in Japanese. 

It will feature three zones – an Attraction Zone “Secret Gadgets Lab” Customization Zone and Shop Zone. 

After entering the store, customers will arrive in the gadgets lab where they will be able to test the technology. Customers also can make their own merchandise at Customize Zone. In the Shop Zone, a large collection of Doraemon goods including limited-edition items will be available for purchase.
