HKTDC to host five annual events next week

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council is going to hold five major events at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) next week.

The events are the Business of IP Asia Forum (BIP Asia Forum), HKTDC SmartBiz Expo, Asian E-tailing Summit, HKTDC Hong Kong International Franchising Show and DesignInspire.

“Despite the current internal and external challenges facing Hong Kong, HKTDC will continue to run its exhibitions and events as scheduled, working to support Hong Kong enterprises with new business opportunities,” says Stephen Liang, assistant executive director at HKTDC.

Held on December 4-5, the Asian E-tailing Summit will feature the latest trends in e-tailing and business opportunities and solutions across Asia and the mainland. Inside Retail Asia readers are entitled to 70-per-cent discount to purchase the Asian E-tailing Summit tickets by clicking here.

The third HKTDC SmartBiz Expo will be held from December 4-6 with tagline “Smart Tech Makes Great Business”, featuring three main business areas including Smart City, Smart Living and Smart Commerce. The event is predicted to attract more than 400 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions.

Co-organised by the HKSAR Government and Hong Kong Design Centre, the 9th BIP Asia Forum will be held from December 5-6, featuring more than 70 international IP experts and business leaders to share the latest industry trends.

Meanwhile, the fifth Hong Kong International Franchising Show will attract more than 100 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions, providing a platform for sharing trade insights, connecting with new business partners and finding opportunities in new markets.

Under the theme “Co-create Sustainable Cities”, DesignInspire will be held from December 5-7 to showcase outstanding designs and projects, promoting the sustainable development of the urban as well as commercial environment and the importance of preserving aspects of traditional culture.

“The five December events aim to help SMEs identify new opportunities and markets, find supply chain solutions, streamline processes for raw materials procurement, manufacturing and sales, enhance their brand image and sharpen their competitive edge,” said Liang.

“We are also promoting the financial support funds by the HKSAR government and providing the latest information on Sino-US tariff measures, enabling SMEs to plan ahead and make better-informed business decisions.”
