Boutique movie house opened by Golden Screen Cinemas in Johor Bahru

Golden Screen Cinemas in Johor Bahru has launched an ultra-luxe boutique cinema concept at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey. 

The reopened Aurum Theatre contains a full-service restaurant offering modern continental dining, opulent halls and bespoke services and now serves as the firm’s latest flagship luxury cinema.

Among the highlights at Aurum Theatre is the premium Getha Lux Suites, designed by Italian architect, Marco Fumagalli. The suites feature plush pillows, blankets Getha luxury recliners, with side tables, wireless and USB charger for devices, disposable slippers and a call button to get personalised assistance from Aurum’s staff.

Movie-goers can also order a selection of food to be delivered directly to their seat in the Getha Lux Suites at the touch of the service call button.

“Last year, we closed the doors to GSC Signature with transformational plans to elevate our boutique cinema brand to a whole new level and I am pleased that our new luxury flagship, Aurum Theatre is finally open in Johor,” said Golden Screen Cinemas CEO Koh Mei Lee. “As the new gold standard in extravagant cinema experiences, Aurum promises true cinematic luxury.” 

GSC operates 478 screens across Malaysia, including its cinemas in Johor Bahru, and in Vietnam, through a partnership with Galaxy Studio.
