Starbucks Singapore opens in heritage building at Katong Square

Starbucks Singapore has opened a new store at the historic Conservation Building in Katong Square.

Located in a neighbourhood considered rich in culture, the store features artworks created by local artist Danielle Tay. All the art pieces, according to the company, “pay homage to the rich Peranakan heritage and the luscious landscape in which our coffee originates”.

Different to Starbucks’ usual stores, the Katong Square store was designed with a pastel colour palette, which includes creamy white and muted green and wooden furniture.

The new store also offers its latest limited-edition merchandise collection with New York fashion designers Rebbecca Minkoff. The brand launched The Starbucks x Rebbecca Minkoff this week in New Zealand and nine Asian countries, including Hong Kong, Thailand and Taiwan.
