Thailand’s new Central Food Hall features robots and stores in stores

Central Food Retail has opened its 12th Central Food Hall, in the suburb of Ladprao, featuring robots and store-in-store concepts. 

The food hall has introduced a customer assistant robot called ‘Nong Sukjai’, which will assist with the Thai Chana check in, take shoppers to various zones and recommend special promotions as well as contactinf human staff when needed. 

Central Food Hall Ladprao also features Smart Product Sampling Robots, Welcome Lady and Product Ambassador ready to answer questions and help recommend products.

Central Food Hall houses 12 zones, including Produce, James The Butcher, The Baker, Asian Foods, Healthful and Petster. The food hall offers an assortment of more than 30,000 products from Thailand and overseas. 

“Central Food Hall, Ladprao came from the idea of giving customers a venue for in store experience in every sense,” said Sujita Phengoun, COO large format at Central Food Retail.

“We are dedicated to improving the shopping experience seamlessly and presenting a unique experience that is different for consumers.”

Alongside the new format, the company is also running the “Food For Good Deed” project. Its bakeries and fresh produce are donated through the SOS Foundation, which has contributed 637,037 meals to 28,200 people and reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 88,199 kg.
