A few short years from now, Sydney CBD is set to look very different. Narrow, crowded footpaths will be replaced by large pedestrianised spaces and outdoor dining hubs, and the once-smoggy bus corridors will be no more, replaced with tree canopies and micro forests. That’s according to the City of Sydney’s $43.5 million plans to redevelop George Street into a “world-class pedestrian boulevard”, with 9000 square metres of car-free space stretching from Town Hall down to Railway Square.&nb
