Lendlease to host plant-based cloud kitchen in Singapore

PLQ Mall is set to welcome social enterprise The Social Kitchen to its Paya Lebar Central precinct, in a move that aims to support and empower vulnerable communities, according to Lendlease.

The “cloud kitchen” will feature dine in, takeaway and delivery options, and will be realised through a partnership with Unilever Food Solutions’ The Vegetarian Butcher – allowing the kitchen to create an entirely plant-based menu.

“With the launch of our latest outlet and partnership with PLQ Mall, our organisation remains committed in our mission to provide the necessary support to the communities that need it most,” The Social Kitchen director Avelyn Lee said.

“The outlet at PLQ will serve as a culinary hub to elevate the dining experience, providing a re-imagined cloud kitchen concept that will warm the hearts of gastronomes looking for refreshing plant-based food options.”

The Social Kitchen aims to be the largest employer of disadvantaged individuals and their caregivers in Singapore, and to train and equip them with skills and opportunities to make a better life for themselves.

The beneficiaries of The Social Kitchen’s training programme include low income families, single mothers, disadvantaged individuals and their caregivers.

“Lendlease is delighted to welcome The Social Kitchen to be part of our growing family of socially responsible and sustainable brands,” said Jenny Khoo, Lendlease Singapore’s head of asset operations.

“This collaboration signifies our commitment to creating communities that thrive and is one of our partnerships supporting our target to create S$245.5 million of social value by 2025.”
