Jollibee plans to open 100 Tim Ho Wan outlets in China

Philippine fastfood giant Jollibee Foods Corp (JFC) has opened its third Tim Ho Wan store in Mainland China as part of its expansion program.

Located in Nanfeng City Shopping Mall in Shanghai’s Changning District, the new two-storey branch has an alfresco dining area, allowing it to accommodate up to 126 customers.

The company first invested in the franchise in 2018 via a joint venture agreement with the Tim Ho Wan group, allowing JFC to open and operate its restaurants in the country.

The company opened its first branch of the Michelin-starred dim sum restaurant in China last year.

According to JFC, more branches are set to open in September in Hongkou, Jingán, and Minghang districts.

“We’re thrilled to continue expanding the Michelin-starred Tim Ho Wan in mainland China. We are targeting to open 100 restaurants within the next four years,” said Shirly Chang, President, JFC China

Today, JFC operates 17 brands in 33 countries, consisting of 5815 stores across the globe. In addition, it has 531 stores in Vietnam, 402 in China, and 347 in North America.

This year, the company plans to open 450 new stores across various restaurant brands overseas and in the Philippines.
