Uniqlo to open global flagship in Beijing

Uniqlo is expanding its presence in China with a new global flagship store to open in Beijing this November.

The store will be located in the Sanlitun shopping district, aiming to become “a new fashion and cultural landmark showcasing The Art and Science of LifeWear”.

Chinese customers will find a full range of Uniqlo’s products at the three-level flagship shop, as well as the country’s first in-store implementation of “StyleHint”, a social-retail experience combining real and virtual worlds.

“As a wonderful city with a long history, Beijing inspires limitless creativity through its culture, traditions, inclusiveness, and innovation,” said Pan Ning, senior executive officer at Fast Retailing Group and CEO of Uniqlo Greater China.

By November, the Japanese retailer will have a network of three global flagship stores in its second-biggest market, including two flagship stores in Shanghai.

Entering China in 2002, Uniqlo currently operates more than 820 retail locations throughout the mainland.
