Lazada merges logistics divisions under new name

Southeast Asian online marketplace Lazada has merged its logistics businesses into a single entity, Lazada Logistics.

The company previously operated two divisions – Lazada eLogistics, which managed fulfilment and logistics with third-party logistics providers, and Lazada Express, which delivered purchases to customers.

At the same time as the rebranding, Lazada Logistics will introduce multi-channel logistics services, which it says will seamlessly provide a single stock fulfilment solution to help e-commerce enablers and brands fulfil orders across multiple channels. Regardless of which e-commerce channel a consumer orders a product on, Lazada Logistics will fulfill and deliver the orders using its own fleet, a channel-nominated delivery service or a third-party logistics partner.

“In the current climate, consumers have grown accustomed to the convenience of a new shopping norm, and of having their purchases delivered to their doorstep – intact and on time,” said Andy Huang, chief logistics officer at Lazada Group. “It is more important than ever that we continue to innovate and introduce new solutions that will help our merchants and e-commerce partners meet the growing demands and expectations of their customers.”
