Japan’s Metaphor boosts profile with global online store

Japanese fashion label Metaphor is further expanding online reach with the launch of its global e-commerce platform under its new brand name ‘Maison Metaphore…’.

The launch also coincides with the release of Metaphor’s Autumn/Winter 2021 Collection. The e-commerce website will be available in English, Simplified Chinese and Japanese, offering free shipping globally.

“Just like a metaphor, the concept behind Maison Metaphore… is to convey our evolving world through innovative, ground-breaking fashion,” said Kento Fukatsu, designer and founder.

“By launching our global e-commerce website, we are enabling a larger number of people the opportunity to express themselves through our progressive, gender-neutral apparel.”

The website features the brand’s full apparel collections for both female and male consumers, including its latest AW 2021 Collection. Dudded ‘In the Middle of Change’, the collection was created with “a mixture of diverse cultures in mind but still from a Japanese perspective”.

Inspired by Dadaism and Japanese underground street culture, Kento Fukatsu founded Metaphor in 2016 as a Japanese domestic brand.
