Word on the street: Retailers react to Australia’s border reopening

Australia’s travel retailers are counting down the weeks until international borders are scheduled to reopen next month, after 20 long months of isolation from the rest of the world — bar an all-too-brief travel bubble with New Zealand.  Before the pandemic, international travellers spent over $40 billion a year when visiting Australia, according to Australian Retailers Association CEO Paul Zahra, and that boost to the economy has been “sorely missed”. We asked three retailers,
