Copenhagen cafe Leckerbaer opens standalone Singapore store

Copenhagen-based pastry shop, Leckerbaer, has unveiled its new Singapore concept store in Keong Saik Road, after the successful country debut via a kiosk inside Isetan Shaw House last year.

Nestled inside a conserved shophouse, the store features minimalistic design with warm tones. Inspired by Scandinavian interior design, the interior features wooden panels, light-wood furniture, warmly lit rattan walls and Champagne-coloured oval mirrors.

Upon entering the cafe, customers are welcomed by a pastry counter where they can pick up take away orders. Separated into two zones, the lounge area is decorated with a mix of cushioned bench and rattan wood seating.

Ahead of the year-end festive season, Leckerbaer Singapore has introduced a Christmas Collection, featuring eight new adaptations with festive flavours and visually appealing geometric moulds.

Founded in 2014 by spouses, Jokob and Gabi Bär Mogensen, Leckerbaer is known for its signature hand-crafted småkagers (Danish butter cookies). The brand was brought into Singapore amid the pandemic under a partnership with lifestyle and F&B group, Caerus Holding, marking Leckerbaer’s first expansion outside Denmark.

“From the very beginning of our partnership with Jakob and Gabi, we’ve had a mutual understanding of how we could convey the essence of hygge in Singapore,” said Vijay Pillai, CEO of Caerus Holding. “We knew the limits of a shopping mall ambiance and have always set sights on furthering the brand immersion to what I’ve personally experienced at the Copenhagen store.

“This has been a long dream in-the-making and it is our hope to provide a retreat with little reminders of joy, especially in precarious times like today.”
