Louis Vuitton has launched a temporary residence on the corner of Pitt Street and King Street in Sydney, bringing a collection of the late Virgil Abloh’s work as part of its global ‘Walk in the Park’ series of events.

The pop-up launched on December 15, and will run until March 15, offering over 40 styles of men’s sneakers, sunglasses and jewellery covering the business’ Spring-Summer rages from 2019 to 2022.

“The chosen designs continue to be coveted by the global community formed by the late artistic director since his arrival at Louis Vuitton,” the business said.

“Expanding on the ongoing dialogue with his audience, Virgil Abloh wanted visitors to experience House icons up close, and immerse themselves in their creative evolution.”

The residence will offer the business’ latest upcycled trainer collection, and designs will be colour-coded throughout the store in a nod to Abloh’s debut show for Louis Vuitton, which showcased his work atop a rainbow runway.

Abloh passed away at the end of November after privately battling cancer for several years, according to a statement from LVMH.

“Virgil was not only a genius designer, a visionary, he was also a man with a beautiful soul and great wisdom,” the business said.

“The LVMH family joins me in this moment of great sorrow, and we are all thinking of his loved ones after the passing of their husband, their father, their brother and their friend.”
