Decathlon announces new chief executive French sporting goods retailer Decathlon has appointed Barbara Martin Coppola as its new CEO. Coppola will succeed Michel Aballea, who has worked with Decathlon since 2015. Sephora GM takes up role at AirRobe
Sephora’s local lead, Beth Glancey, has taken up a role at fashion resale marketplace AirRobe as its general manager and head of partnerships for Australia and New Zealand.
Glancey had been at Sephora for two-and-a-half years, having previously worked as the general manager at Benefit Cosmetics and head of online and e-commerce at David Jones.
“Today, a new chapter starts,” Glancey wrote on her LinkedIn. “I join [AirRobe founder Hannon Comazzetto’s] mission to change the face of fashion by powering the circular economy. [AirRobe] is actually genius and I’m sure if you haven’t already heard of us – you will very soon.”
AirRobe said it was thrilled to welcome Glancey to the role.
General Pants’ online boss steps up
General Pants Co. general manager for online, Glynn Miles, has been promoted to the position of chief digital officer.
Miles had worked at General Pants for 16 months before the promotion. He has previously worked at colette by colette hayman and The Perfume Shop in head of e-commerce positions, as well as at Greencross Ltd as national omnichannel operations manager.
Designer Thierry Mugler dies at 73
French fashion designer Manfred Thierry Mugler, who was behind designs worn by Beyonce and Lady Gaga, has passed away, aged 73.
“We are devastated to announce the passing of Mr Manfred Thierry Mugler on Sunday, January 23. May his soul Rest In Peace,” said a statement on Mugler’s official social media accounts.
The cause of death was reported as natural causes, his agent said.
The renowned designer, born in 1948, was known for his architectural, hyperfeminine, and theatrical approach to haute couture. Mugler introduced his fashion brand in 1973 with his first fashion collection, Cafe de Paris. His designs were worn by David Bowie, Diana Ross, and Duran Duran, among many others, during his career in the fashion industry.
