L’Oreal Korea has appointed Samuel du Retail as its new CEO for the region.

Du Retail joined L’Oreal France in 1996 and has worked in a variety of fields, including management, operations, finance, and e-commerce. He worked as CFO for L’Oreal China in 2006, for L’Oreal Western Europe in 2012, and was then named Global CFO for L’Oreal Consumer Cosmetics a year later.

As the head of L’Oreal’s Consumer Cosmetics Division in China, du Retail oversaw the 2017 launch of 3CE and he also led the expansion of Maybelline and L’Oreal Paris in the market.

Prior to receiving his most recent promotion, he worked for the company as group e-commerce GM in France from October 2020 until early this year.

With Korea driving the global beauty market with K-beauty trends, du Retail says he is looking forward to his new role, adding he will concentrate on cooperative leadership to keep L’Oreal on its “cutting-edge course” in the region.
