Italian luxury label Furla has appointed Giorgio Presca as its new CEO, succeeding Devis Bassetto, who has temporarily held the position since April.

With more than 30 years of experience in the fashion industry, Presca most recently held the role of CEO of Clarks, and prior to that was CEO of Golden Goose, Geox and Citizens of Humanity. He started his career in fashion at GFT and was also responsible for different executive positions for several international brands including Diesel and Levi’s.

Furla president Giovanna Furlanetto describes Presca as “a skilled leader with a strong ability” in bolstering major global fashion businesses and fostering lucrative and secure growth.

“Mr Presca shares our values and our determination to establish Furla as a real democratic brand, the only Italian brand in its category,” he said.

“This appointment also stands to highlight my whole family’s willingness to continue with full control of our business and lead it into the future.”

Furla was founded in Bologna in 1927 by Aldo Furlanetto and it operates under the guiding principle that “every lady deserves beauty and quality at a fair price.” The business has 490 mono-brand stores in 98 nations.
