Hungarian fashion house Nanushka has expanded its presence in China, launching an online store on Alibaba’s Tmall after introducing its first Asia flagship store in Shanghai’s IAMP shopping mall last month.

The launch will be followed by the opening of the Nanushka Chengdu store later this year. The fashion brand also aims to increase its store count in the market to nine by 2026, making China the brand’s largest investment and footprint.

“China continues to be at the very forefront of the luxury sector and presents a significant long-term opportunity for us,” Peter Baldaszti, CEO of Nanushka, said in a statement.

Nanushka Tmall store will boast ready-to-wear lines for women and men, accessories and a core collection. Its best sellers include the Hide Jacket and the Vinni pants.

“We believe that a combined strategy of having a strong physical and digital presence for our customers is essential to enabling our customers to connect with our brand.”

Founded in 2006 by the husband-and-wife duo, Sandra Sandor and Baldaszti, the fashion brand is known for its craftsmanship and sustainability with a modern minimalist aesthetic. Nanushka’s pieces were endorsed by Michelle Obama, Yang Mi and Billie Eilish.
