Esprit’s new chief brand officer to lead its creative and design hub

Esprit has appointed Ana Andjelic as its new chief brand officer. 

Based in New York, she will be tasked with redefining the brand’s new identity, and lead the company’s global creative and design hub.

Before the appointment, Andjelic was the chief brand officer of Banana Republic, the chief marketing officer at Mansur Gavriel and chief brand officer at Rebecca Minkoff. 

She has twice been named in Forbes’ The World’s Most Influential CMOs list, and authored the book, The Business of Aspiration.

Esprit chief executive William Pak said that Andjelic’s extensive experience in brand building will be extremely valuable in bringing ESPRIT’s global ambitions to life. 

“Ana will play an indispensable role in enhancing and strengthening our brand, and in turn accelerating our growth,” Pak said.

“We are thrilled to have her on board.” 

Former Fisher & Paykel managing director appointed new King Living chief executive

Australian furniture design brand King Living has announced David Woollcott as its new chief executive.

He replaces Anna Carrabs, who stepped down after seven years in the role.

Carrabs said that it had been a privilege to have been the leader of King Living, and to have worked with a team that created a platform of future growth for the company

Following his appointment, Woollcott wrote on LinkedIn that he never thought he’d have the opportunity to lead the near-50 year old brand. 

“King Living has a remarkable history, true design and engineering pedigree and an extraordinary future ahead of it,” Woollcott said.

“Before I move back to Sydney at the end of November with my family, I will be spending time with our British-based and Canadian-based teams [and] can’t wait to meet more of the King team in due course as we embark on our next chapter together.”

Prior to the appointment, Woollcott was the UK & Europe managing director of Fisher & Paykel.

Grant Kelley to step down as Vicinity CEO

Grant Kelley will retire as chief executive and managing director of Vicinity, effective at the end of the financial year.

The Australian retail property group will seek to replace Kelley – who has been in the role for more than five years –  through a recruitment process involving internal and external candidates. 

Kelley said that he is proud of Vicinity’s strong financial and operational position, with the company outperforming the A-REIT index by 30 per cent.

Chairman Trevor Gerber acknowledged Grant for his contributions to Vicinity over his tenure.

He commended Grant’s leadership throughout Vicinity’s major asset recycling program, as well as his leadership throughout the pandemic. 

“Over this period, Grant has drawn on a long history and experience in private equity and overseen change and strategic process at Vicinity,” Gerber said.

Hanan to replace Lloyd-Hurwitz as Mirvac group CEO

Campbell Hanan has been appointed Mirvac’s next group chief executive and managing director.

He succeeds former chief executive Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz, who will retire from the group on 30 June 2023, and begin the role in March that year.

He has worked for the development and management property group for six years, currently

serving as the head of their integrated investment portfolio, and has 29 years of experience working in the property and funds management industry.

Mirvac chair Dr John Mulcahy thanked Lloyd-Hurwitz for her remarkable leadership over the last decade, and expressed delight at the appointment of Hanan.

“During Campbell’s time at Mirvac he has made a significant contribution to our company, and he has been instrumental in contributing to our urban strategy and transforming our investment portfolio,” Dr Mulcahy said.
