US egg sandwich chain Eggslut is set to expand into Hong Kong, the brand’s fourth Asian market after Japan, South Korea and Singapore.

The exact launch date has not yet been disclosed. However, Eggslut’s first Hong Kong store is expected to start its trial operation in late May before opening its doors to the public the following month.

Eggslut Hong Kong will be located on the ground floor of the Fashion Walk shopping centre in Causeway Bay with the space already in fit out behind hoardings bearing the brand’s logo.

The US chain was founded by chef Alvin Cailan in 2011 and is known for its egg sandwich made with a brioche bun, coddled egg and sriracha mayo sauce. The California-headquartered brand has five stores in its home market and 10 stores internationally, according to its website.

Under the partnership with South Korean restaurant operator SPC Group, Eggslut entered South Korea in 2020 with the first store opened in Seoul’s Starfield Coex Mall, less than a year before its Southeast Asian debut. The brand opened its second store in Singapore last year.
