Off-White to close a fifth store in Mainland China

Italian luxury fashion brand Off-White has shut its store in Sanlitun Beijing, the brand’s fifth store closure in Mainland China.

Previously, Off-White had closed four locations in Chengdu, Xian, and Shanghai, reducing the brand’s total boutiques from nine just a few years ago to five.

Off-White was founded in the US in 2012 by Virgil Abloh. It quickly gained global recognition and landed in China in 2017, earning a lot of attention from fashion lovers, especially young consumers.

Abloh sold a controlling stake in the label to the LVMH Group in 2021, shortly before his death in November of that year.

Last year, Off-White made its debut on Tmall, further bolstering luxury China’s e-commerce platforms.
