Hong Kong-based pet food and supplies retailer ADP Group has been acquired by Jebsen Group for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1996 by brothers Alexander and Paul Yip, ADP Group boasts 42 brick-and-mortar stores across two retail chains – Q-Pets and Red Carrot. The group also operate an e-commerce platform and six franchised stores in Hong Kong.

Jebsen Group’s operations include the distribution and retailing of brands as diverse as Casio, Bollinger Champagne and Porsche and it operates the J Select electronics retail business. Acquiring ADP Group marks Jebsen’s first foray into the pet care and retail industry.

“Jebsen has been actively pursuing opportunities to expand its footprint in attractive industries that are close to the consumer,” said Alexander Spitzy, COO of Jebsen Group and MD of Jebsen Consumer.

“As the foremost pet care retailer in Hong Kong, Q-Pets presents significant opportunities to not only tap into the domestic market but also to expand further into Greater China.”
