Stella McCartney has opened its first coffee shop in Osaka, “Stella’s World by Stella McCartney”, located on the eighth floor of Hankyu Umeda Main Store.

Stella’s World by Stella McCartney is described by the brand as an experience of the brand’s DNA, established as a hub for those who enjoy cruelty-free fashion, food, music, “and Mother Earth”.

McCartney’s exclusive items will be featured at the shop and the cafe.

“From music to the spirit of technological innovation to art – I have had a lifelong love and admiration for Japanese culture,” said Stella McCartney.

“This is the first time we have opened a place like this, and it is also the first time for the brand to open a cafe! Japan and this country. I wanted to open ‘Stella’s World’ to show my love to the people of the Stella community where I live.”

Stella’s World is a homage to Japan from McCartney’s ecological, luxurious, and cruelty-free perspective. The brand said another source of inspiration is the recent work with Yoshitomo Nara, a famous Japanese painter and sculptor.

The store design was inspired by music. The cafe, which serves vegan foods, features a turntable motif while the walls are made of reused acoustic materials including speakers. The store features LED lighting, which uses less energy than regular lighting.
