Parisian luxury leather goods brand Polene has expanded its presence into Asia, launching its first flagship store in Japan’s upmarket Omotesando district.
The new two-story flagship marks the brand’s third flagship after Paris and New York. Designed by French architect Valeriane Lazard, Polene Omotesando follows the signature interior design featured at the two other flagship locations, highlighting the brand’s ‘elegant and sophisticated’ feel.
The store features mineral-coloured exterior walls, a tall glass facade, natural oak wood floor, and multiple leather lighting fixtures. The walls are finished with sand plaster in Polaine’s colour tone.
A lacquered pedestal, designed exclusively for the Omotesando store, is created by Makino Shikkogei, a group of Kyoto-based lacquer artists founded in 1929 and the brand collaborates with glassmaker Emmanuel Barrois to create installations for the store’s interior.
Besides leather goods, the store is the brand’s only point-of-sale in Asia to offer its latest jewellery collection.
Founded in 2016 by three siblings, the French House of Polene creates leather goods that combine minimalism and creative expression in order to offer unique and signature shapes.
