Japanese mochi brand Warabimochi Kamakura will open its first store in Singapore, making its debut in Southeast Asia.

The store, located at One Holland Village, will open on February 3, offering traditional Japanese confections made from warabiko (bracken starch) and covered in kinako (soybean powder). The products will be served with pure black sugar from Okinawa.

The store also sells drinks, which, according to the brand, will be tailored to “suit the local taste”.

Warabimochi Kamakura, founded in 1991, now has 50 outlets in Japan and has recently expanded into Hong Kong and Canada.
