Two Adidas China employees leave company amid corruption probe

Two Adidas employees in China have left the company as a result of an ongoing probe into corruption allegations that was opened after the German sportswear maker received an anonymous letter, an Adidas spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The German firm received the letter on June 7 – which was also circulated on a Chinese social media platform – and was investigating along with independent external advisers, the spokesperson said in a statement.

One employee had violated the code of conduct while interacting with local vendors, while another “failed to meet the company’s leadership expectations of demonstrating mutual respect and trust”, the company said in the statement.

Adidas did not name the two employees.
