Starbucks has opened Jangchung Lounge R, its first Reserve-only store in South Korea, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its Reserve coffee in the country.
Located in Jung-gu, Seoul, the new store spans three floors and has a 180-seat capacity. The store aims to offer customers an experience reminiscent of the 1960s, occupying a building from that era.
Starbucks said the original building was preserved to retain the structure’s integrity, including its doorbells, closets, and staircases.
Upon arrival, patrons are welcomed by an augmented reality mural portraying the brand’s journey from coffee bean cultivation and harvesting to roasting, culminating in a freshly brewed cup of coffee.
Each floor has seven spaces, each with a unique theme. There is a lounge, a music room, an outdoor garden, and a Mixology bar that offers various coffee cocktails.
Coffee cocktails include Espresso Martini, ‘Latte Whisky Martini, Citrus Cold Brew Martini, and Bourbon Whiskey Cream Cold Brew. For customers who want to experience mixology drinks without alcohol, non-alcohol versions of ‘White Moscato Sangria’ and ‘Strawberry Lemon Vodka Blended’ are available.
The store will also debut the ‘Espresso Flight’, a trio of drinks featuring Starbucks Reserve espresso paired with chocolate powder, French vanilla cream, and Jeju Palsak sherbet, exclusive to Starbucks Reserve South Korea.
